Steam Economies Co., Inc., a manufacturer's representative firm specializing in heat transfer equipment, was founded in Wooster, Ohio in 1917. In spite of the low cost of steam generation in those early years of the twentieth century, the founders realized effective utilization of steam could result in higher industrial profits and lower energy costs. Applying what was at that time, state-of-the-art, Steam Economies used energy transfer technology along with the most reliable steam system components to help its customers improve production efficiency.

Following World War I, the Midwestern industrial economy flourished and Steam Economies grew. With customer needs becoming increasingly demanding and more complex, Steam Economies helped to meet those needs by working with its customers to reduce costly downtime, to control temperatures, and to obtain replacement system components promptly. Today, with an increased emphasis on energy conservation, these customer-oriented services have taken on even greater importance. Steam Economies has grown in order to meet these demands by representing quality manufacturers, by having strategically located offices, and by employing highly trained personnel.

Continuing with the company's original goals of serving customer's needs, today's Steam Economies has a corporate headquarters located in Hamilton, Ohio and five satellite offices.
